Mindtemple is a counselling centre that provides support to individuals seeking help for psychiatric, emotional and behavioural issues. Headed by the internationally acclaimed psychiatrist Dr. Anjali Chabbria, the centre also counsels patients who wish to quit tobacco. Mindtemple's team imparts training to LifeFirst's counsellors, who then go on to provide tobacco cessation services to patients.

The Salaam Bombay Foundation works in the field of tobacco use and prevention, creating curriculum and pioneering projects that safeguard children’s health and education. The Foundation conducts in-school programmes in numerous municipal and government-aided schools in Mumbai. It also conducts outreach programmes in various districts in rural Maharashtra. Salaam Bombay Foundation is the implementing partner for LifeFirst’s workplace, school and community projects.

Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Centre

The Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Centre Health Communication Core (HCC) offers evidence-based communication services to provide researchers and clinicians with materials and strategies for study-recruitment, intervention, education, and retention.

Founded in 1999, HCC is led by Dr. Vish Viswanath, PhD, an internationally known expert in health communication. Dr. Viswanath is a Professor of Health Communication in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) and in the McGraw-Patterson Centre for Population Sciences at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI).

Dr. Viswanath’s work, drawing from literatures in communication science, social epidemiology, and social and health behaviour sciences, focuses on translational communication science in order to influence public health policy and practice. Dr Vishwanath serves as an advisor to the LifeFirst project and he and his team is involved in developing the LifeFirst training module and various research studies in the LifeFirst project.

Healis Sekhsaria Institute for Public Health

Healis Sekhsaria Institute for Public Health has a wealth of experience in epidemiologic research and has published numerous seminal research results in international and national scientific journals. Dr. Prakash C. Gupta is the Director of Healis Sekhsaria Institute of Public Health since its foundation on August 1, 2004. Dr. Gupta has researched public health in India since 1966, and has several hundred publications. An expert in tobacco control research, Healis Sekhsaria Institute for Public Health serves as a research partner to LifeFirst.

LifeFirst, in collaboration with Dr. Gupta and his team, has initiated a research project on LifeFirst primary healthcare tobacco treatment service.


Massachusetts General Hospital

Dr. Nancy Rigotti is the founder and director of the Massachusetts General Hospital's Tobacco Research and Treatment Center, which combines a clinical service that provides state-of-the-art smoking cessation treatment with a research group that develops and tests smoking treatment interventions for health care settings. She chairs the tobacco-treatment quality improvement teams for Partners HealthCare System, Inc., and for Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Rigotti provides technical support and plays an advisory role in the LifeFirst project.

Dr. Rigotti and her team are involved in a research project on LifeFirst In-patient tobacco treatment service.
